Aus einer Rundmail des Teams des World Year of Physics:Help select Einstein as one of the Greatest Americans!
The Discovery Channel is running a series that seeks to discover who viewers believe is "The Greatest American." Einstein is on the list of 25 notable citizens whom voters have chosen so far. The current round of voting will narrow the list to the top five.
It is particularly appropriate that the series is taking place one hundred years after Einstein's 1905 miracle year, when he revolutionized much of modern physics by proving the existence of atoms and photons, discovering the Theory of Special Relativity, and writing down the most famous equation of all time, E=mc^2.
In addition, Einstein was an outspoken advocate of human rights who immigrated to the US in part because of his love and respect for the American way of life.
Einstein is competing with other great Americans like George Washington, Martin Luther King, Jr, Abraham Lincoln, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Rosa Parks, but you have several chances to vote. Isn't Einstein worth at least one?
Und weil ich nicht 100% damit einverstanden bin, gibts hier NICHT die Voting-Möglichkeiten... so viel Einstein-Werbung will ich dann doch nicht machen ;-)
